Mirella Macaluso, 71, Beautician, of Norwalk

NORWALK, Conn. – Mirella Macaluso of Norwalk died July 8 at her home. She was 71.

Born in Palermo, Sicily, Italy, she was the daughter of Benedetto and Diane Calabrese Macaluso. She immigrated to the United States in 1956 and worked as a beautician in Wilton for more than 40 years. 

Macaluso is survived two sisters, Maria Giannitti and husband Ted, of Westport, and Lillian Spedale and husband Leonardo, of Palermo; and two nephews and a niece. She was predeceased by a nephew, Benedetto Spedale.  

Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Collins Funeral Home in Norwalk. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at Assumption Church in Westport. Burial will follow at Willowbrook Cemetery in Westport.
