Mildred A. Kirkland, 81, Of Norwalk, Owned Coffee Shop, Little Richards

NORWALK,Conn. - Mildred A. Kirkland of Norwalk died Saturday, Nov. 15. She was 81.

Kirkland worked at The Five and Ten Store in Norwalk for eight years where she was in charge of five departments. After her marriage together with her husband bought their first family home in Norwalk. Together they opened a coffee shop named Little Richards in East Norwalk on First Street.

Kirkland is survived by her children, Karen (Kirkland) Fallo and Gail (Kirkland) Renzulli, Kathy Kirkland, Doreen Kirkland-Green and Lisa (Kirkland) Faroni; siblings, John Kozar and Mary Horvath; 44 nieces and nephews; nine grandchildren; two foster grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and sons-in-law, Chuck Fallo, Ricky Renzulli, Peter Green and Dean Faroni. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Kirkland; brothers, Lawrence Kozar, Jacob Kozar, Frank Kozar, Joseph Kozar and Louis Kozar; sisters, Anna Ticar, Sophie Withall, Ella Stachelczyk and Gloria Gagstetter.

Calling hours are Tuesday, Nov. 18 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Ave., Norwalk. A Mass and Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19 at St. Jerome Church, 23 Half Mile Road, Norwalk.
