Michael Santella, 91, Lifelong Norwalk Resident, WWII Army Veteran

NORWALK, Conn. - Michael Santella of Norwalk died Friday, May 17. He was 91.

Santella was born May 9, 1922, to Patsy and Palma (D'Attellis) Santella. He was a lifelong resident of Norwalk, graduating from Norwalk High School in 1940. A veteran of World War II, he was drafted into the U.S. Army in Oct., 1942. He served in the 96th Signal Battalion in India, Northern Burma, the Burma Road and China.

Santella is survived by two nephews, Pat Santella (Kathy), and Joseph J. Santella; and two grand nieces, all of Trumbull. He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Joseph M. Santella; and sister-in-law, Mary.

Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 20, at Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 21 at St. Joseph Church, 85 So. Main St., So. Norwalk. Interment will be in St John Cemetery, Richards Ave., Norwalk.
