NORWALK, Conn. - Michael John Vertula of Norwalk died Saturday, Oct. 19. He was 78.
Vertula was born March 3, 1935, in Norwalk, son of Frank and Mildred Avalone Vertula and has lived in Norwalk all of his life. He was retired from Pepperidge Farms.
Vertula is survived by his wife, Carolyn Roxburgh Vertula; children, Gary Vertula, Carolyn Vertula and Michael Vertula; brother, Richard Vertula; three grandchildren; and a great grandchild. Hel was predeceased by his parents; daughter, Deborah; and brother, Frankie.
Calling hours are Tuesday, Oct. 22 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23 at St. Thomas the Apostle Church with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery.
