NORWALK, Conn. Mary Tracey Shanahan formerly of Norwalk died June 5, her 82nd birthday, with family at her side.
Shanahan was born in Norwalk to Dr. Edward John and Clara Belle Hammond Tracey. She had a long career at General Electric Service and was a longtime resident of Stratford.
She enjoyed Scrabble, reading, knitting, travel and following the New York Mets and University of Connecticut Huskies.
She was predeceasd by her husband, Frederic F. Shanahan.
Shanahan is survived by four children, Rick (Patty) Shanahan, Tracey Person, Patricia Shanahan and Mary Ellen (David) Johnson; three brothers, Dr. Edward (Ann) Tracey, William (Margaret Mary) Tracey and Dr. James (Dorothy) Tracey; two sisters-in-law, Joan Tracey and Susan Tracey; a brother-in-law, John Corridon; eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Kathryn Ann Harrell and Sheila Corridon; and two brothers, Michael Tracey and John Tracey.
Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday at Cody-White Funeral Home in Milford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Church in Milford, Conn. Burial will be private.
