BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - Mary Frances (Havlik) Abbott of Bridgeport died Dec. 9. She was 78.
Abbott was born Jan. 13, 1936, in New York City, to Hubert and Violet Havlik, and grew up in Washington, DC., and Paris, France. She attended Goucher College in Baltimore, Md. She worked in customer service at Klaff's in Norwalk for many years
Abbott is survived by her husband, Cornelius Webster Abbott III; children, Mary Price Abbott (Patrick) Monahan, of New York City, Jennifer Abbott, of Vermont; three grandchildren; a great-grandson; and nine nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Susan Havlik Balshaw; and daughter, Katherine.
There will be a celebration of life for Abbott in January.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Transplant Patient Care Fund at Yale New Haven Hospital or the Connecticut Audubon Society.
