Mary Ann Zoppi, 78, Of Norwalk, Volunteer At Lockwood-Matthews Mansion

NORWALK, Conn. - Mary Ann Zoppi of Norwalk, formerly of Stamford, died Nov. 5. She was 78.

Zoppi was born July 25, 1935, in Stamford, to Frank and Philomena Tamborino. She worked in Stamford for Ruth and the late Norman Block as their family caretaker. She was a volunteer at Lockwood-Matthews Mansion in Norwalk.

Zoppi is survived by her husband, Albert Joseph Zoppi of Stamford; daughter, Alberta Rappoccio (Peter) of Ridgefield; son, Philip Zoppi (Eileen) of Fairfield; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; siblings; Frank Tamborino, of Stamford, John Tamborino of North Carolina, Italo “Tom” Tamborino (Lena) of Stamford and Paul Tamborino (Barbara) of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; and sisters-in-law, Antoinette “Dolly” Tamborino and Josephine Tamborino.

There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9 at St. Mary’s RC Church, 566 Elm St., Stamford. Interment will be private.
