NORWALK, Conn. – Marion Veronica Beke, of Norwalk, wife of the late Joseph “Joe” Beke, died Sunday, Feb. 7. She was 93.
Born in Norwalk on March 6, 1922, daughter of the late Antonio and Victoria Macaluso, she was a lifelong city resident. She graduated from St. Joseph School and was a 1939 graduate of Norwalk High School. She earned an associate’s degree from Katharine Gibbs College. She retired as a librarian at Norwalk High School after over 20 years with the Norwalk School System. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Church.
Survivors include a son, William J. Beke and his wife, Sherrie, of Norwalk; a daughter, Ellen Beke Cyr and her husband, David, of Cumberland, Maine; two grandchildren, Sarah Beke of Norwalk and Erica Beke Hocking, and her husband, Ryan, of Guilford; and three great grandchildren, Phoenix Gardella, Cassidy and Hunter Hocking.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 203 East Ave., Norwalk. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery.
