Vuoso was born in Ischia, Italy, son of Giovan Giuseppe Vuoso and Maria Migliaccio Vuoso. He worked for Wagner Pools in Darien before retiring to Florida. He immigrated to the United States in 1960, living in Norwalk, and became a U.S. citizen in 1965.
Vuoso is survived by his wife, Agnese Biasetti Vuoso; children John Vuoso (Sharon), Maria Vuoso DiOrio (David), Albert Vuoso (Diane), Frank Vuoso (Denise), and Mario Vuoso Jr.; sister, Virginia Vuoso Amadei of Ischia; brother, Fiore Vuoso of Ischia; and nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers Giorgio, Giuseppe, Salvatore and Matteo Vuoso; and granddaughter, Madison Vuoso.
Calling hours are Sunday, July 14, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Ave., Norwalk. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, July 15, at 10 a.m. in St. Philip Church, 1 Father Conlon Place, Norwalk. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery, 223 Richards Ave., Norwalk.
