Marilyn Zoty Atkin, 90, Of Norwalk, Former Save The Children Employee

NORWALK, Conn. -- Marilyn Zoty Atkin, 90, of Norwalk, died Tuesday, May 5.

She was born May 28, 1924, in New York City and grew up in Chicago.

Atkin studied at Northwestern University and moved to Norwalk in 1955.

After raising her family, she worked as a development officer for Save the Children Federation until she retired in 1988.

She was an active member of the Wilton Society of Friends (Quakers).

She volunteered with Lifetime Learners at Norwalk Community College and the Democratic Party.

She also served on the Roton Point Club board for many years.

Survivors include three sons, John (Marina Thomas) Atkin, Ethan (Susan Ritz) Atkin and Paul Atkin; one daughter, Evelyn (Frank) Dahm; one sister, Jacqueline Toman Bridgwater of Argenton-sur-Creuse, France; and six grandchildren.

Her husband, William Wilson Atkin, and one sister, Alice Kako, preceded her in death.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 13, at Wilton Friends Meeting, 317 New Canaan Road (Route 106), Wilton.

A gathering will follow at noon Saturday, June 13, at her home, 39 Comstock Hill Ave., Norwalk.

Nutmeg State Cremation Society, Stamford, is handling the arrangements.
