NORWALK, Conn. - Marie Thorn died Tuesday, Sept. 9. She was 99.
Thorn was born Sept. 19, 1914, in Camden, South Carolina, to Hardy Thorn, Sr. and Berley Horton Thorn. She was employed with Pepperidge Farm of Norwalk until retirement.
Thorn is survived by her daughter, Barbara Young of Brooklyn, N.Y.; numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren; great great grandchildren; nieces, nephews; and other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents; son, Wesley Lylies; and daughters, Betty J. Young and Rosetta M. Gibson.
Calling hours are Wednesday, Sept. 17 from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by a service of celebration at 11 a.m. at Bethel AME Church, 19 Academy St., Norwalk, CT 06850 with Rev. Dr. Richard Wesley Clarke officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Norwalk.
