Barton was born May 7, 1936, in Norwalk, to Hugo and Anna Nelson Sauer. She was a graduate of Norwalk High School, Class of 1955, and worked for many years at the Norwalk Hospital as a cashier.
Barton is survived by her children, Michele Thomas (Greg) of Richmondville, N.Y., Warren E. Barton, III (Nancy) of Huntly, Ill., and Doreen Steel (Tom) of Milford; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; and husband, Warren E. Barton, Jr.
Calling hours are Thursday, Oct. 10 from 5 to p.m. at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 10 meeting directly at St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Ave., Norwalk with burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery.
