Marguerite Quinlivan Leggett, 89, Of Norwalk, Dental Hygienist

NORWALK, Conn. - Marguerite Quinlivan Leggett of Norwalk died Wednesday, Nov. 12. She was 89.

Leggett was born in Norwalk, in 1925, to Joseph Quinlivan and Marguerite nee Schmidt. She was a lifelong Norwalk resident.

Her early education was at Cranbury School in Norwalk. She graduated from Norwalk High School in 1942 and received her degree as a dental hygienist from Columbia University in 1943. She was a practicing hygienist for over 25 years and served as a volunteer at Norwalk Hospital for 17 years.

Leggett is survived by her son, Michael (Carol) of Fairfield; sons, William (partner, Ralph Perillo) of New York and Robert Leggett (Robin) of Sudbury, Mass.; daughters, Suzanne Romano (Michael) of Orange and Blythin Leggett of Dunedin, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews; and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husbands, Richard Sweeney and Dr. William Leggett.

Calling hours are Friday, Nov. 14, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, at St. Jerome Church, 23 Half Mile Road, Norwalk, with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery, Norwalk.
