Marcia J. BarenBregge, Formerly Of Norwalk

NORWALK, Conn. – Marcia J. BarenBregge died Monday, Nov. 2.

Born Dec. 15, 1960, in Norwalk, she graduated from Brien McMahon High School. She initially was employed by the law firm Slavitt & Connery followed by the public defender’s office in Norwalk until she married in 1984. She then relocated to Upper Marlboro, Md., where she was a devoted and loving mother and homemaker. She re-entered the work force in the educational field by working at Marlton Elementary School as a teacher’s aide then became a certified pre-K paraprofessional, working at the school until her death.

She was very active at St. Paul’s Moravian Church as chairperson on various boards. She also was PTA president among other community activities. As a paraprofessional, she was awarded an Outstanding Supporting Personnel Award in 2007 for her outstanding accomplishments. 

She loved to travel and along with her husband, Peter, and had the opportunity to travel extensively to many states and internationally to Canada, Bermuda, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, England, Scotland, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, Italy, Turkey, Australia and New Zealand.

She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Peter, of Upper Marlboro, Md.; their three children, Emily BarenBregge of San Francisco; Alex BarenBregge of Reston, Va.; and Lisa BarenBregge of Annapolis, Md.; her mother, Irene Breault, of Norwalk; one sister; one brother; and three nieces and three nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul’s Moravian Church in Upper Marlboro, 8505 Heathermore Blvd., Upper Marlboro, Md. Interment will be at Arlington Cemetery.
