Lydia Salvato, 82, Lifelong Norwalk Resident, Volunteer At Norwalk Hospital

NORWALK, Conn. - Lydia Salvato, a lifelong resident of Norwalk, died Tuesday, Feb. 25. She was 82.

Salvato was born in Norwalk, the daughter of Fred and Rose Kollar Antl. She had retired from a local moving and storage company as an office manager. She was the secretary of the Class of 1949 at Norwalk High School. Salvato was along time parishioner at St. Joseph Church, serving as a Eucharistic minister. She volunteered at the Norwalk Hospital and Elder House.

Salvato is survived by her husband, Richard F. Salvato Sr.; sons, Frank P. Salvato (Mary Jane) of Greenville, N.C., Richard F. Salvato Jr. (Ana) of Springfield, Mo., and Robert W. Salvato (Marybeth) of Milford; seven grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; sister, Phyllis Vetter (Allan) of Womelsdorf, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents.

There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, Feb. 28, at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, 85 S. Main St., Norwalk. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery, Richards Avenue, Norwalk.
