Vitali was born April 1, 1921, in Norwalk, daughter of Joseph and Marianna Chiaia. She grew up in Norwalk and lived in Ridgefield for over 30 years while raising her family. She was a member of Saint Mary’s Church.
Vitali is survived by her daughters, Marylou Trzcinski and Dolores Martin of Ariz., Jeannette Forcelli of Ridgefield, Gloria Mola of Norwalk, Angela Vitali of Easton and spouses; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Rico Vitali; son, Richard; twin sister, Caroline Nuzzo; sisters, Mary Giordano, Antonette Tavella, Katherine DeMarte; and brother, Samuel Chiaia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20 at Sacred Heart Church, 30 Church St., Georgetown, with burial to follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Ridgefield.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Connecticut Hospice 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405 or the Whittingham Cancer Center through the Norwalk Hospital Foundation, 34 Maple St, Norwalk, CT 06856.
