Soltes was born Aug. 25, 1926, in Norwalk, to Anthony and Helen Bacho Soltes. He attended Norwalk schools and worked for the Second District Water Department for 37 years. He was a lifelong member of St. Ladislaus Church and a 46 year member of the South Norwalk Boat Club.
Soltes is survived by his wife, Sarah Boyd Soltes; son, Lou Soltes, Jr. (Mimi Hall); a granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Anthony and Joseph Soltes; and sisters, Florence Soltes Dorta and Gertrude Soltes Kruger.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, April 14 at 10 a.m. in St. Ladislaus Church, 25 Cliff St.. Friends and family are requested to meet directly at the church. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, Richards Ave., Norwalk.
