Ferguson was born April 6, 1929, in Atlantic City, N.J., son of Frederick and Cecelia Ferguson. He attended public schools in Atlantic City, where he graduated from Atlantic City High School. He later attended Maryland State College and was a member of Omega Psi Phi fraternity in 1953. He also served in the U.S. Army. He relocated to Norwalk in 1955, where he was employed by the Metalizing Product Co. and the Westport School System.
Ferguson is survived by children, Renee, Karen, and Michael; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Constance Ferguson-Ingram of New Jersey; nephew and nieces; three godchildren; and a host of friends. He was predeceased by his parents; and wife, Irene E. Ferguson.
Calling hours are Saturday, May 4 at 9 a.m. until time of service. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. at Bethel A.M.E. Church, Richard Fuller Way, 19 Academy St., Norwalk, CT 06854. Interment to follow at Mountain Grove Cemetery, Easton.
