Lawrence C. Bottone, 88, Of Norwalk, Foreman At Hat Corp., Butcher

NORWALK, Conn. - Lawrence C. Bottone of Norwalk died Tuesday, June 24. He was 88.

Bottone was born Aug. 16, 1925, in Norwalk, the son of Custode and Jennie Tummillo Bottone. He has lived locally all of his life. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. When he returned from the service, he went to work for the Hat Corp. of America, where he became a foreman. He then worked for many years as a butcher at the former Atlantic Meat Market on Wall Street. He was a life member of the Eagles Club, Aerie 588, and the Strawberry Hill Athletic Club.

Bottone is survived by his wife, Anna Allocco Bottone; sons, Michael Bottone of Norwalk, Steven Bottone (Yu) of Poway, Calif., and Lawrence Bottone of N.Y.; sister, Mary Cararbe of Norwalk; a granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents.

Calling hours are Thursday, June 26, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, June 27, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 203 East Ave., Norwalk, followed by burial at St. John Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Bottone’s name may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
