Thomas was born in Long Beach, Calif., and joined the United States Navy following his high school graduation. After serving his country, he and his wife, Debbie, settled in Norwalk and raised their three children. He loved food, was passionate about music and enjoyed playing the guitar.
He was predeceased by his father, David Leroy Thomas, and one brother.
In addition to his wife, Debbie, he is survived by his three children Mia, Raina and Miles Thomas; his mother, Helen Farkas; and two sisters.
Calling hours will be on Monday, Feb. 2, from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Ave. Service will follow at First Congregational Church on the Green, 3 Lewis St., with a private burial following at Riverside Cemetery, 81 Riverside Ave.
