Young worked for many years as a key punch operator. A devout Catholic, she was active at St. Jerome as a greeter and volunteered wherever needed. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and the Norwalk Senior Center.
She is survived by her daughter Valerie Y. Leone and her husband Gerry L., of Rowayton, two cherished grandchildren, Gerald Leone II (and Natalie Smith) and Erica Gauquier and her husband Brian Gauquier Jr. of Ridgefield, and great-grandson Brian III, as well as three sisters; Connie Palermo of Norwalk, Jean Cook of West Redding and Theresa (Ralph) Fredericks of Norwalk and a brother John (Marie) Restivo of Wilton, and other extended family.
She was predeceased by parents John and Nancy Restivo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 24, at St. Jerome Church, Norwalk, with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery.
Calling hours will take place on Tuesday, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk.
