June Carolin O’Shaughnessy, 89, Longtime Norwalk Resident

NORWALK, Conn. - June Carolin O’Shaughnessy of Norwalk died Thursday, June 20. She was 89.

O’Shaughnessy was born Dec. 15, 1923, in Oceanside, N.Y., daughter of Charles and Anna Schilling and has lived locally for the past 65 years. She was the school librarian for Wolfpit Elementary School for many years and prior to that had worked at Rockefeller Center for NBC Radio. She was active in St. Peter Lutheran Church and has been a member since moving with her husband to Norwalk. She volunteered for many years at the Norwalk Hospital and the American Red Cross.

O’Shaughnessy is survived by her son, Patrick O’Shaughnessy (Linda); daughter, Anne Beluk (Paul); three grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; and her husband, Edward J. O’Shaughnessy,

Calling hours are Thursday, June 27 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 28 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 208 Newtown Ave., Norwalk with Pastor Robert Beinke officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Norwalk.
