Josephine Bonello, 95, Former Norwalk Resident, Artist And Teacher

NEW HARTFORD, Conn. - Josephine (Coppola) Bonello, of New Hartford and formerly of Norwalk, died Sept. 21. She was 95.

Bonello was born Feb. 15, 1919, in Norwalk, to Anthony and Mary Coppola, and lived there until 2002, when she and her husband moved to Litchfield County. She was a well-known artist who worked in various media, and was a gifted teacher of art who worked with both children and adults.

Bonello is survived by her children, Maryanne Boettjer, Edward Bonello Jr. and Brian Bonello; and several grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward Jesse Bonello; and sister, Virginia.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26, at the Barkhamsted Senior Center, 190 W River Road, Barkhamsted.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bonello may be made to the Barkhamsted Senior Center, 67 Ripley Hill Road, Pleasant Valley, CT 06063 or to an animal shelter of your choice.

Funeral arrangements were made by Montano Shea Funeral Homes.
