Joseph A. Lomazzo, 93, Former Norwalk Resident

GREEN ACRES, Fla. - Joseph A. Lomazzo, of Green Acres and a former Norwalk resident, died Tuesday, Sept. 25. He was 93.

Lomazzo was born March 18, 1920, in Norwalk, son of Michael and Mary Cappuccia Lomazzo.  He was the former owner of the Jury Box Restaurant in Bridgeport and was the deli manager for Food Mart in Old Greenwich until his retirement. In retirement, he was a marshal at the Oak Hills Golf Course in Norwalk. He was also a veteran of World Ware II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Force. He was a member of the Sons of Italy.

Lomazzo is survived by his son, Joel J. Lomazzo (Corrinne), and two grandchildren, all of East Hartford; brothers, Sam Lomazzo of Florida, and Michael Lomazzo of Connecticut; sister, Margaret Gaita of Florida; longtime companion, Marjorie Rysz; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Fannie Venezia Lomazzo; and sisters, Rose Veno and Angie Pia.

Calling hours are Thursday, Oct. 3, from 5 p.m. until the service begins, at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk. A service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, at the funeral home.
