Joseph F. Sweet Sr., 74, Of Norwalk, Worked For The City Of Norwalk DPW

NORWALK, Conn. - Joseph F. Sweet Sr., of Norwalk died Tuesday, April 23. He was 74.

Sweet was born Aug. 29, 1938, in Norwalk, son of Edwin J. and Catherine Lovett Sweet.

Sweet worked for the City of Norwalk Department of Public Works for 33 years before his retirement. He was a 30-year member of the South Norwalk Boat Club and a past member of several other boating and social clubs in the area.

Sweet is survived by his wife, Patricia; his daughter, Debra Senger (Stephen) of Bethel; his brothers, James Sweet of Norwalk and John “Jack” Sweet of Brookfield; five grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his son, Joseph F. Sweet Jr.; sisters, Edna MacGregor, Phoebe Dunlap and Marion Brown; and brothers, William, Alfred and Charles Sweet.

Calling hours are Friday, April 26 from 4  to 8 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Ave., Norwalk. Services will be held Saturday, April 27 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home.  Burial will follow the services in St. John Cemetery, Richards Ave., Norwalk.
