NORWALK, Conn. – Joseph Michael Esposito of Norwalk died Dec. 29 at his home. He was 79.

He was born May 20, 1933, in Scranton, Pa., to Antonio and Minnie Russo Esposito. A Norwalk resident for most of his life, he was married to Rose Boccia Esposito. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War.

Esposito worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for many years. After retiring, he worked for Cadbury-Schwepps and then as a security guard. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, JoAnn Esposito-Karcsmar and Patricia Ann Pocograno; a sister, Sarah Epifano; four grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Magner Funeral Home in Norwalk. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Norwalk. Entombment will follow at St. John Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
