John Thomas Goggins, 87, Longtime Norwalk Resident, Property Agent

NORWALK, Conn. - John “Jack” “Papa Jack” Thomas Goggins, longtime resident of Norwalk, died Saturday, Oct. 5. He was 87.

Goggins was born Sept. 3, 1926, in Great Neck, Long Island, son of James P. Goggins and Julia Carroll Goggins. He moved to Norwalk at the age of 5. He attended Saint Mary’s grade school and graduated from Norwalk High School in 1945. He was a property agent for the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation for 45 years. He was a parishioner of Saint Mary’s Church in Norwalk.

Goggins is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth (Steven) Najarian; son, Peter (Linda) Goggins; five grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, June Peterson Goggins; and brother, James Goggins.   Calling hours are Saturday, Oct. 12 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Philip Church, 1 Father Conlon Place, Norwalk at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Norwalk.
