Epps was born on March 24, 1942, in Whitmere, S.C.,, to Marie McMorris Epps and John Ballard Epps, Sr.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from Genovese Trucking Company after numerous years of service.
Epps is survived by his mother, Marie McMorris Epps; three brothers, John Howard Epps, Thomas Edward Epps (Girlie) and Jackie Robinson Epps (Connie); two sisters, Yvonne Wright (Willie) and Fannie Epps-Hopkins; and two goddaughters, Angela M. Wright and Leeza Smith.
Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 8, at Downer Funeral Home followed by a service of remembrance at 11 a.m. at Bethel AME Church, 150 Fairfield Ave., Stamford, CT. Interment will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery, Darien.
