John Adams, 81, Norwalk Resident, Chemist For Clairol

NORWALK, Conn. - John "Jack" Adams, a longtime Norwalk resident, died Sunday, Aug. 18. He was 81.

Adams was born Dec. 7, 1931, son of John and Aurise (Drolet) Adams. He attended New York University and worked at Clairol for 36 years as a senior chemist and received the President's achievement award.

Adams is survived by his wife, Helen of Norwalk; sons, Christopher (Margaret) of Middletown, N.Y., and John of Brooklyn, N.Y.; daughter, Christina Askenback (Aaron) of New Haven; and three grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; and sister, Maxine Peluso.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 23 at St. Jerome RC Church, 23 Half Mile Road, Norwalk. Interment will be private.
