BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - Jeanne C. Portera of Bridgeport died Friday, Nov. 28. She was 88.
Portera was born in Waterbury, to Francis and Florence (Hallgren) Deschene, and raised in Stamford. She was a longtime resident of East Norwalk, before retiring to Milford and then Bridgeport for the last 17 years.
Portera is survived by her son, Tom Portera (Carol) of Fairfield; daughter, Nancy J. Portera with George Hassan of Durango Colo.; three grandchildren; sister, Marilyn Bechert of Bristol; four nieces and nephews; and 12 great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Jack R. Portera; and son, Robert J. Portera.
Burial at Centerville Cemetery will be private under the direction of the Fairfield Funeral Home of Edmund W. Dougiello, 36 S. Pine Creek Road, Fairfield.
