NORWALK, Conn. – Jean M. Robinson of Portland and formerly of Norwalk and Wilton, died Sept. 8 at Middlesex Hospital. She was 75.
The daughter of Dominic and Rena Brignano Sala, she was born Oct. 18, 1936, in Hartford. She was raised in West Hartford before moving to Norwalk. Robinson lived in Norwalk and Wilton for more than 30 years and was married to Matthew E. Robinson, who survives her.
She graduated from Central Connecticut State University and received a master's degree from Fairfield University. Robinson worked as a teacher in the Darien school system for 30 years before retiring. She was a member of the Church of St. Mary in Portland and enjoyed playing golf and tennis.
Robinson is also survived by a sister, Claire Henson, of Manchester; a brother-in-law, Albert Fournier, of East Hartford; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Lorraine Fournier; and two nephews.
Calling hours will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Portland Memorial Funeral Home. Services will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at the Church of St. Mary in Portland. Burial will be in Swedish Cemetery in Portland.
