James 'Jim' Lucchesi, 80, Norwalk Insurance Broker

NORWALK, Conn. – James "Jim" E. Lucchesi of Norwalk died Oct. 24 at Norwalk Hospital. He was 80.

He was born Dec. 8, 1931, in Norwalk to Joseph Lucchesi and Gilda Lucchesi Tomea. He graduated from Norwalk High School and the College of Life Underwriters. He served in the Navy during the Korean War.

He worked as an insurance broker for many years, first with John Hancock and then on his own as an independent broker. Lucchesi was an avid golfer and a longtime member of the Oak Hills Golf Association. Throughout his life in Norwalk, he enjoyed spending time at the beach. His family was most important to him.

Lucchesi is survived by his wife, Katherine “Kitty” Zullo Lucchesi; a son, James “P.T.” Lucchesi; a daughter, Lisa Lucchesi; a sister-in-law, Rose Lucchesi; and two grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Lucchesi.

Visitation is from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Magner Funeral Home in Norwalk. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Jerome Church in Norwalk. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Connecticut Hospice, 1 Park St., Norwalk, CT 06851.
