Jack Ruscoe, 76, Norwalk Electrician

NORWALK, Conn. – John "Jack" Ruscoe, a longtime resident of Norwalk, died June 15 at Norwalk Hospital surrounded by his family. He was 76. 

Born March 16, 1936, in Norwalk, he was the son of Walter Ruscoe and Beatrice Hunt Ruscoe. He was married to Nancy Thompson, who predeceased him last September. 

Ruscoe graduated from New Canaan High School in 1954. An avid sports fan and U.S. Army veteran, he retired from International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 501 with Santella Electric of New Canaan after more than 40 years. 

He enjoyed the company of his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He also loved taking day trips, driving with no destination in mind and enjoying every moment with his wife, Nancy. 

Ruscoe is survived by two daughters, Jeanne Smith, of Akron, Ohio and Lisa Piatt, of Stratford; a son, Robert J. Ruscoe, of Newtown, Conn.; a brother, Walter Ruscoe, of New Canaan and a sister, Patricia Cerullo, of Vista, N.Y. Also surviving are his late wife's children, Colleen Bentley, Kevin Corcoran and Frank Corcoran; seven grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. 

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Aloysius Church in New Canaan. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hoyt Funeral Home in New Canaan.
