ROWAYTON, Conn. - Gloria Ruth Bishop of Rowayton died Friday, Aug. 2. She was 84.
Bishop was born and raised in Brookhaven, N.Y., by her parents Theodore and Alice (Burkhardt) Bishop of Long Island. She worked for Norwalk Savings Society for over 20 years and taught Sunday School at Norwalk United Methodist Church.
Bishop is survived by her sons, Walter Albert Belinsky Jr. (Jennifer) of Fairfield and Christopher Bishop Belinsky (Jennifer) of Norwalk, Jacinth Ruth Belinsky; four grandchildren; brother, Theodore; two sisters, Evelyn and Mary; and friends and relatives. She was predeceased by her daughter Melissa Ann Belinsky. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7 at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk, with burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery, Norwalk.
