Giuseppe Iacono, 85, Of Norwalk; Worked At Nash Engineering

NORWALK, Conn. -- Giuseppe Iacono, 85 of Norwalk, died peacefully at his home Sunday. Jan. 25.

Giuseppe was born in Barano di Ischia, Italy, on March 15, 1929, the son of the late Sammuel and Marcella Mattera Iacono and has lived locally since 1955. He was retired from Nash Engineering, where he had worked in the maintenance department for 25 years.

He was a member of the Norwalk Senior Center, enjoyed gardening, making wine, playing bocce and walking. He was also a movie buff, enjoyed music and especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include a son, George J. (Theresa); a daughter Marsha M. Sargent (Russell) of Trumbull; siblings Lucia Lombardi of Italy, Franca Mancusi of Norwalk, Giovanni Iacono of Norwalk and Georgette Migliccio of Italy. Also surviving are three grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Dina DiMeglio Iacono; brother Michael; and sister Mary Iacono.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Jan. 31, 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 85 S. Main St., Norwalk, with burial to follow at St. John Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk, on Friday, Jan. 30, from 4-8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to St. Joseph Church.
