George M. DiScala, 65, Norwalk Resident

NORWALK, Conn. – George M. DiScala, of Norwalk, husband of Janet Cocchia DiScala, died Monday, Feb. 1. He was 65.

Born Nov. 13, 1950, in Norwalk, he was the son of Mary DeMassa DiScala and the late George F. DiScala. 

He was a lifelong Norwalk resident. A 1968 graduate of Central Catholic High School, he earned a bachelor’s degree from Sacred Heart University. He was a longtime builder and real estate developer. An avid outdoor sportsman, he was a member of the South Norwalk Boat Club, East Norwalk Boat and Yachting Club, Stamford Fish and Game Club and a life member of the N.R.A.

Survivors, in addition to his wife and mother, include son George F. DiScala and his wife, Kyle, daughter Jessica Putetti and her husband, Kevin; brother John DiScala and his wife, Debbi; and grandchildren Anthony, Macie and Luke, all of Norwalk.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Ave., Norwalk. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 203 East Ave., Norwalk. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery.
