George A. Jeanloz, 88, Formerly Of Norwalk

NORWALK, Conn. – George A. Jeanloz, 88, formerly of Norwalk, died Friday, Feb. 13, at Glastonbury Healthcare Center.

He was the husband of Barbara M. (Simons) Jeanloz. They were married April 14, 1956. Born in Neuchatel, Switzerland, he was the son of the late Charles Aurele and Helene Suzanne (Wuthrich) Jeanloz. He was employed as a toolmaker and machinist for Bic Pen Corp. for over 30 years before retiring. He enjoyed snow skiing, camping, summer walks on Calf Pasture Beach and collecting oysters. He was a deacon at Calvary Baptist Church in Darien and belonged to the Gideons. Jeanloz swam at the Norwalk YMCA almost every day for 40 years.

He is survived by his children, Daniel A. Jeanloz, and his wife, Kristian, of Hope Valley, R.I., Vonnie R. Leathead and husband, Gordon, of Doylestown, Pa., Denise L. Novak and her husband, Sig, of Bethlehem, Pa., and Heidi A. Burton and husband, Paul, of Hebron, Conn. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.

A memorial service and burial took place Monday, Feb. 16. In lieu of flowers, donations to Word of Life, Schroon Lake, N.Y., are appreciated.
