George Connors, 80, Norwalk Korean War Veteran

NORWALK, Conn. – George V. Connors of Norwalk and formerly of Stamford died Feb. 1 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was 80.

Born in Stamford, he was the son of George and Ann Kusy Connors. He graduated from Stamford High School in 1950 and served in the Army during the Korean War. After the war, he graduated from UConn and worked as an administrator for the city of Stamford.

Connors was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion. He was married to Eileen Connors for 43 years. 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister, Nancy (George) McGuire, of Norwalk; and seven nieces and a nephew.

Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Magner Funeral Home in Norwalk. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Matthew Church in Norwalk. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery in Norwalk.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity.
