NORWALK, Conn. Generoso "Geno" Rauccio, a former Norwalk resident, died June 24 in Monroe, Conn., with family by his side. He was 78.
He was born Feb. 2, 1934, in Italy to Domenico and Alessandra Rauccio. He was a veteran of the Italian military and was known as a master barber. Rauccio retired from Bristol Myers-Squibb. He enjoyed gardening and was a former member of the St. Ann's Bocce Club.
Rauccio is survived by his wife of 50 years, Rosa Picone Rauccio, of Monroe; a daughter, Marianna Lyons, of Monroe; two sons, Domenic Rauccio, of Wilton, and Luigi Rauccio, of Norwalk; three brothers, Frank Rauccio and Andrea Rauccio, both of Florida, and Elpidio Rauccio, of Derby, Conn.; four sisters, Concetta Tartaglia, of Norwalk, Teresa Tartaglia and Maria Hemingway, both of Florida, and Carmela Battaglia, of Shelton, Conn.; 12 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, at Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home in Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Thursday, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Norwalk. Burial will follow in St. John's Mausoleum.
