Frank Tegano, 85, Retired Norwalk Police Officer

NORWALK, Conn. - Frank J. Tegano, 85, of Norwalk, a retired Norwalk police officer, died Saturday, Dec. 27 in the Norwalk Hospital.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he was the son of the late Dominick and Carmela Fotia Tegano. Tegano was a 26-year veteran with the Norwalk Police Department and retired in the late 1970s. After retiring, he worked for M.B.I. and the Norwalk Court System and owned East Side Variety in Stamford.

He is survived by his wife, Connie Scire Tegano; daughters Francine Mendence and husband Phil of Norwalk, Terri Cutrone and husband Frank of Norwalk and Gina Wygonik and husband Jim, of Madison; many grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother Phil Tegano, of Norwalk; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are Tuesday, Dec. 30, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Ave., Norwalk. A prayer service will be held at 6 p.m.
