Vargha was born Dec. 9, 1930, in Bratislava, Slovakia. After briefly living in Vienna, she emigrated to the United States and settled in Norwalk with her husband. She was employed by General Electric Credit Corporation for 25 years.
Vargha is survived by her husband, Victor Vargha; daughter, Christine Newkirk of Darien; a granddaughter; two brothers; and a sister.
Calling hours are Saturday, Oct. 18 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home, 2119 Post Road, Darien. A church service will follow at St. John Church, 1986 Post Road, Darien at 1 p.m. The burial will be at Spring Grove Cemetery.
