Flora Tavella, 95, Lifelong Norwalk Resident

NORWALK, Conn. — Lifelong Norwalk resident Flora Tavella died Friday, May 13. She was 95.

Tavella was an active member of AARP — serving as secretary for many years — and a faithful communicant and founding member of St. Philip Church. 

Most recently, she was employed by Deluxe Check Printers, the office of Dr. Arnow, and served as a hostess for many years at the Blue Moon Restaurant. 

Tavella is survived by her sister, Jane Gilchrist; and her brother, Joe Tavella. She also is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their families; many cousins and her many dear friends. 

Tavella was predeceased by her brothers, Frank, Jim, Dominick (Muzzy) and Rocco, Jr.; and her parents, Rocco and Lena Masi Tavella.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Philip Church, One Father Conlon Place, Norwalk. 

Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery, 223 Richards Ave., Norwalk.
