Barnes was born in Vista, N.Y. She raised her family together with her husband in Norwalk, where he operated George’s Saw Service. For many years, she worked at the Sisters of Notre Dame convent in Wilton.
Barnes is survived by her children, George Barnes Jr. (Antoinette) of Naugatuck; Patricia Impy (James) of Norwalk; Richard Barnes (Brad Durrell) of Morris and Lisa Reda (Joe) of Bethlehem; three grandchildren; and a great grandson. She was predeceased by her husband, George E. Barnes of Norwalk; and a grandson, Kevin Barnes.
Calling hours are Saturday, Aug. 17 from 10 a.m. until services begin. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17 at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk, with burial to follow at Beck’s Hill Cemetery in Lewisboro, N.Y.
