WILTON, Conn. - Ellen B. Cooper of Wilton and formerly of Norwalk died Oct. 27 at her home. She was 87.
Born May 6, 1925, in Norwalk, Cooper was the daughter of Carl and Anna Nelson Berglund. She lived in Norwalk resident until moving to Wilton in 1960. She was married to the late Jacob Cooper.
Cooper was active in the United Covenant Church and served as secretary for the Silvermine Volunteer Fire Company. She graduated from Norwalk High School and had worked for Gilbert and Bennett Manufacturing in Georgetown.
She is survived by a daughter, Ellen “Nan” Cooper (David) Shanahan, of Great Barrington, Mass.; a sister, Anna Berglund Anderson, of Norwalk; a sister-in-law, Marion Berglund; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Arthur Berglund and Carl Berglund Jr.; and two sisters, Josephine Haessig and Agnes Decker.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Hillside Cemetery in Wilton, officiated by the Rev. Earl Dunbar. A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at United Covenant Church. Magner Funeral Home in Norwalk is handling arrangements.
