Elizabeth Stefanko, 93, Norwalk Resident Worked As Area Bookkeeper

NORWALK, Conn. -- Elizabeth A. Stefanko, 93, of Norwalk , wife of the late Frank J. Stefanko, died Friday, Feb. 6 at Fairview Health of Southport.

Elizabeth was born in Newton, Mass., the daughter of the late Edward B. and Elizabeth Clarke Reilly. She was a Norwalk resident since 1946 and was a bookkeeper for several local businesses. She was a longtime member of St. Ladislaus Church.

Survivors include three sons, Monsignor Paul F. Stefanko of Cape Elizabeth, Maine; Philip J. Stefanko of Plymouth, Maine and Brien E. Stefanko of Norwalk; a daughter, Linda M. Szantyr and her husband John of Stratford; a son-in-law Paul Traunecker of Norwalk; nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, a brother, Edward Reilly and his wife Anna; sisters, Claire Chagnon, Phyllis King and Anne Pendergast and her husband Jim; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen E. Traunecker and a brother, John Reilly.

Friends may visit with the family from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 11 at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Ave., Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 12 in St. Ladislaus Church, 25 Cliff St., Norwalk. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery, 223 Richards Ave., Norwalk.
