Born July 9, 1923, she was the daughter of Everett L. Fisk and Lorene M. Fisk of Rochester, N.Y. She attended Hood College for one year, and then transferred to Allegheny College to be closer to home during World War II. She graduated in 1945 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
Upon graduation, she was employed by the Eastman Kodak Co. in Rochester. In 1950, she married her husband, Richard, and they began their family in Rochester. They moved to Norwalk in 1957.
As a 50-plus year member of the Norwalk United Methodist Church, she served her congregation in a number of capacities, including the pastor parish relations committee, stewardship commission, delegate to the annual conference and as a Sunday school teacher.
She also volunteered for a number of years at the Good Shepherd House of Hospitality Soup Kitchen and was a Cub Scout den mother.
The Booths were avid travelers. In their retirement years, they traveled extensively throughout Europe, Scandinavia and the Middle East, as well as the U.S.S.R., China and India.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Richard A. Booth; three children and their spouses, Richard A. Booth, Jr. (Deborah Fagan) of Shorewood, Wis.; Lorene E. Bora (Douglas Bora, Jr.) of Darien; and David Fisk Booth (Debra Booth) of New Milford; and five grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held Friday, Aug. 28, from 5-8 p.m. at Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk, A service will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, Aug. 29 at 10 a.m. followed by a burial service at Riverside Cemetery, 81 Riverside Ave., Norwalk.
The family will gather at the home of Booth’s daughter and son-in-law, 38 Nearwater Lane, Darien, following interment. All are welcome for lunch and refreshments.
