NORWALK, Conn. -- Norwalk resident Elaine H. Cotaling died on Thursday, Feb. 18. She was 79.
Born in Norwalk, Cotaling graduated from Sacred Heart Academy and St. Raphael School of Nursing, in New Haven. She and her husband started Cotaling's Auto Body in 1970.
She loved winter weekends in Wilmington, Vermont, with her family. She was "a member of the Shore and Country Club, she enjoyed Long Island Sound and annual trips to Block Island, but her favorite place to be was El Hammock Island with her grandchildren," according to information provided by the Magner Funeral Home.
Cotaling is survived by her children, David Cotaling, Peter Cotaling, Bob Cotaling and Elizabeth Aitoro; grandchildren Connor and Taylor Cotaling, Jason and Chris Cotaling, and Caroline, A.J. and Michael Aitoro; niece Lynn Santaniello; and grand-nieces Andrea and Jessica.
She was predeceased by her husband, Fred Cotaling, and her parents, William and Beatrice (McSherry) Hickey.
Visiting hours will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 19, at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., in Norwalk. A mass will be celebrated at noon on Saturday, Feb. 20, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 203 East Ave., in Norwalk, with burial will follow in St. John Cemetery, in Norwalk.
