She was the loving wife for 55 years of Paul J. Kennedy Jr. Eileen was born in Port Chester, N.Y. Aug. 30, 1924, the daughter of the late William and Ellen Guckian Lawlor. She was a graduate of Port Chester High School, class of 1941 and the College of New Rochelle, Class of 1945.
Kennedy was retired from the Norwalk Board of Education, where she had been a secretary in the music and Ssience department and also the professional library.
Survivors include three sons Brian J. Kennedy of Norwalk, John P. Kennedy and his wife Lynne of San Diego, Lawrence W. Kennedy and his wife Judith of Clark’s Summit, Pa.; two grandsons and their wives and sons Patrick and Andrea Kennedy, great grandson Declan, Paul and Kate Kennedy, great-grandson Charles, all of Boston; and nieces, nephews and cousins in Ireland.
Kennedy also was predeceased by her siblings Mary Lawlor, Margaret Reilly and William Lawlor.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Jerome Church, 23 Half Mile Road, Norwalk, with burial to follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Greenwich.
Her family will receive friends from 3-6 p.m. Sunday at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk.
