Efrosini Stefanidis, 82, Of Norwalk, Retired Sewing Machine Operator

NORWALK Conn. - Efrosini “Froso” Stefanidis of Norwalk died Wednesday, Aug. 21. She was 82. 

Stefanidis was born Dec. 7, 1930, in Ptolemaida, Greece. She moved to the United States with her husband in 1967, to be closer to their son and became American citizens and permanent residents of Norwalk. She worked as a sewing machine operator until she retired. She was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church and often sang in the Church choir. 

Stefanidis is survived by her son, Vasilios Stefanidis (Yvonne) of Norwalk; and two grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Dimitrios “Mimi” Stefanidis.

Calling hours are Monday, Aug. 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Ave., Norwalk. Services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 27 at 10 a.m. in St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 238 West Rocks Road, Norwalk.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, 81 Riverside Ave., Norwalk.
