Dorothy Daye, 78, Norwalk Dietary Technician

NORWALK, Conn. – Dorothy McFadden Daye of Norwalk died June 22 at Norwalk Hospital. She was 78.  

Born Aug. 27, 1933, in Norwalk, she was the daughter of Roger McFadden Sr. and Rosabelle R. McFadden. She was married to the late Milon J. Daye and was a resident of Norwalk for most of her life. 

A graduate of Norwalk High School and Wright Tech, Daye completed an internship in dietary food supervision at Norwalk Hospital in 1963. She worked at Norwalk Hospital and the Stamford campus of the University of Connecticut. She was most recently employed as a dietary technician at Bridgeport Mental Health Center. Daye was employed by the state of Connecticut for more than 30 years. 

She is survived by a daughter, Milinda A. Daye, of Norwalk; a brother, Rudolph McFadden, of Norwalk; three sisters, Delores Downer, of Norwalk, Barbara Farrison, of Danbury, Conn. and Rose (Robert) Wiley, Hyde Park, N.Y. and many nieces, nephews and friends. Daye was predeceased by a brother, Roger McFadden and three sisters, Alice Phillips, FloraBelle Smith and Helen Dunmore.  

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, followed by a funeral service at First Congregational Church in Norwalk. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Norwalk.
